Get ready for the California Democratic Party Convention in San Diego April 27th - 29th! Our next Progressive Caucus meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 27th at 5:00 PM. We have heaps of new members, and the very important election of the Caucus EBoard.

1. Welcome, introductions
2. Business
3. Eboard/ Executive Committee officer elections
4. Review of Action Planks – what’s been happening over the past year
5. Review and discuss resolutions submitted at this convention, victories and challenges
6. Election Integrity – Loni Hancock, review resolutions
7. Single Payer Healthcare – review resolution, One Care Now Campaign update, and update on the march in Los Angeles
8. Iraq War – review resolutions
9. Poverty – review resolutions
10. Impeachment – review resolution, impeachment movement
11. Progressive Plan – DNC, transparency resolutions and proposed rule changes
Time allowing, candidates for local, state and federal elections may speak at the conclusion of the Caucus business.
Due to the fact that we must conduct officer elections at this meeting, the new Executive Board will take up plank revisions and/or additions at the next CDP Eboard meeting. |

Interested in running for a position on the EBoard of the Progressive Caucus?
Here is a list of the officers and their duties:
1. Two Co-Chairs (one from the Northern region of California and one from the Southern region, preferably one of each gender.) The Co-Chairs shall serve as the chief executive officers and official voice of the Progressive Caucus and shall carry out the purpose of the Progressive Caucus. For the 2-year term following the national presidential election, the Southern California Co-chair shall be the E-Board representative, and for the 2-year term following the state gubernatorial election, the Northern California Co-chair shall be the E-Board representative.
2. Vice-Chair: the Vice-Chair shall assist the Co-Chairs in carrying out their duties and shall serve as chair in the co-chairs’ absence.
3. Secretary: the secretary shall maintain the minutes of the meetings of the Caucus and shall maintain current lists of Caucus members. The secretary shall also serve as the caucus historian being responsible for archiving actions of the caucus.
4. Parliamentarian: the Parliamentarian is the authority for issues of procedure, especially with respect to Roberts Rules of Order and disputes over motions, priority, etc.
5. Treasurer: the treasurer shall take custody of and account for all funds raised by the Progressive Caucus consistent with the procedures of the State Democratic Central Committee and shall submit budgets and financial reports as required by the by-laws of the State Democratic Committee.
6. Three at-large officers will be elected to complete the EBoard
Those who wish to run for office in elections for officers must be members in the caucus for a minimum of thirty days prior to the election. Those wishing to run for one of the Co-chair positions must be a delegate of the DSCC.
Those who wish to vote in the officer elections must be members in good standing, i.e. the individual is a registered California Democrat; and supports the purposes of the Caucus; and pays the yearly dues in effect at the time the individual joins the Caucus.
The term of office shall be for two years or until a successor is elected.
