Scott Ritter, Iraq weapons inspector
As the UN's top weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991-1998, Ritter was one of the first people to call into question Bush's allegation that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Author of "Iraq Confidential," Ritter believes that Bush has committed impeachable offenses but warned that belief is not enough. "Impeachment is a constitutional process that the members of Congress must do. Let's have the hearings that require due process to determine that high crimes and misdemeanors were committed." However, he warned that activists must use caution and not move too quickly, that there is a need for a wide base of support and that the people have not been exercising power for some time. He noted the lack of understanding of the constitution, that possibly only 10% of the population understands what is in it, and that we need to empower the American people to "give a damn" and understand the constitution and take back the power they once had.
